Guilloume is a master of bolismo, an emotional style using simple forms, textures, and movements to exhibit human feelings from the simple to the complex. Guilloume’s canvas is a unique expression of earthly humanism with its joys, afflictions, and fears. Born in Colombia in 1957, he dedicated himself to art at an early age and completed formal studies at Bellas Artes Institute in 1981. His art employs oils, watercolors, oil-pastel, pastel, pencil, ink, and most recently, sculpture in bronze and stone.

Michael Protiva’s technique is a result of nearly 50 years of painting experience. Oils, acrylics, powdered pigments, modeling paste, diatomaceous earth, gold, copper& silver leaf, airbrush, and sometimes texture elements of macro photography in digital form. He applies these media in layers of epoxy resin over an aluminum plate background. The finished piece can have up to six layers of resin, giving the art a dimensional quality. The colors used are transparent and the substrate surface is visible through the colors. The finished art piece is then sanded, clear coated, wet sanded, and polished. This protects the art from UV exposure. The art piece is luminous, dimensional, and elegant.

AnaMaria Samaniego captures the essence of the Southwest landscape. Her art reflects a sense of place. It’s like stepping among wild flora flooded by the light of Nuevo Mexico with nuance of color reflecting on surrounding cottonwoods and sloping mountains. Her compositions are the strength of her monotypes, etchings, collagraph, linocut, and drawings. Clear and subtle elements in printmaking can depict this spiritual place replenishing the soul.

Michael Swearngin’s interest in the American Cowboy began at a young age. Michael was born in Olathe, Kansas in 1959 and in his youth, his grandfather taught him the heritage of the cattleman and rancher. Michael’s interest in painting began when his family moved overseas, but it wasn’t until moving to San Antonio, Texas in 1973 when he began his art career. Spending sixteen years there influenced him to develop the rich colors and textures in his contemporary style of painting. Combining his interest in contemporary art with the fading heritage of the American Cowboy, Michael’s fluid acrylic paintings create unique imagery inspired by the rugged spirit so vividly seen in the west.

Claudio Tolousse is an Albuquerque-based musician and visual artist. His artwork is inspired by the abstract expressionist tradition, as well as semi abstract-figurative work dealing with shapes, shadows, lines, colors, and people. It is a subtle and simple expression that offers perspective as a tool to view, take in, and enjoy the work. His artwork is also interactive by nature. Primarily made of steel, his sculptures allow the play of magnets to come into every piece and offer the viewer the opportunity to interact with and “finish” each piece.

Kara Young is an internationally recognized professional fiber/mixed media artist. Kara has worked as a fiber artist since the beginning of her art career, starting with sculptural weavings, then designing art clothing, and on to paper making for the past 14 years. Fired copper is the signature of her work. This process literally arose out of the ashes of the Oakland fire of 1991, after her studio and home burned to the ground. While digging through the rubble, amid her tears and grief, she discovered beautiful burned rolls of copper that inspired a dramatic redirection to her artistry and artistic endeavors.
